Five of the Most Romantic Places in Florida
And they’re all in our neighborhood!
Lovers Key State Park
Love is in the name! Lovers Key State Park, located only minutes from Fort Myers Beach, is one of Florida’s most romantic destinations with its crystal blue waters, solitary beaches, and a wide array of wildlife. There are also plenty of activities for you and your beloved to discover on the island such as kayaking, roaming the nature trails, and taking a nature tour!
Rated the No. 1 beach in the world for finding sea shells, Sanibel Island is also a premiere honeymoon and romantic getaway destination. Surprise your love with a Sunday brunch cruise aboard the Sanibel Harbour Princess Yacht. Find beautiful sea shells along our wide stretch of powdery beaches or enjoy a romantic dinner at one of the island’s most famous and unique restaurants, The Mad Hatter or The Bubble Room! Love is in the air on this slice of paradise!
Port Boca Grande Lighthouse
Located on Gasparilla Island, the Port Boca Grande Lighthouse is the oldest structure on the whole island and has been guiding sailors since 1890. If you and your partner both love history, this is definitely a place for you to visit during your romantic getaway. Stroll through the museum and learn all about Charlotte Harbor history dating all the way back from 12,000 B.C. to today. It’s also a great place to have a picnic on the beach and simply enjoy each other’s company.
Located just 20 miles north of Fort Myers is Cabbage Key, an island that can only be reached by ferry. This quiet island paradise is surrounded by lush foliage, beautiful beaches, and is known for its restaurant sitting atop an old Indian shell mound, Cabbage Key Inn and Restaurant. This open-air restaurant covered in dollar bills is said to have been the inspiration for Jimmy Buffett’s hit song, “Cheeseburger in Paradise.” It’s the perfect place to escape from the mainland crowds and enjoy a lovely evening together.
Fort Myers Beach
Our lovely island right on the Gulf boasts a wide variety of romantic waterfront restaurants, pristine beaches lapped by the warm sea, and the most beautiful sunsets you will ever see, making it one of the most romantic places in Florida.
The best part is, you can stay right in the heart of all these wonderful romantic destinations and finally enjoy that much-needed romantic escape with your partner!
